BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:30 P.M.) – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told the Asharq Al-Awsat publication this week that Israeli airstrikes inside Syria might lead to further destabilization inside Syria.

“Such actions … further destabilize the situation and could lead to an escalation,” Asharq Al-Awsat reported Lavrov as saying.

“Syria should not become a platform for implementing plans or settling accounts. The main task of all concerned forces must be to help restore peace to Syrian territory,” he added.

Last month, the situation along the Israeli-Lebanese border reached a tipping point when both the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and Hezbollah traded attacks.

What began as an Israeli attack on a Hezbollah compound in Damascus quickly turned into an intense conflict between the two forces, with the IDF using a suicide drone to attack the Hezbollah media center in the southern suburbs of Beirut.

Hezbollah later retaliated by firing a guided missile at an Israeli military vehicle near the southern border of Lebanon.

Russia was one of the first countries to urge all parties to halt their hostilities and prevent any war from breaking out along the Lebanese border.

Russia, China and India are soon going to become the World’s main peacekeeping force. I’m not cynical or joking. I am happy about that. It’s a force to be reckoned with. American cynical neocolonialism and proxy-barbarism must stop if we want a bright future.

Guess why an Asian-NATO is more and more considered?
As much as Trump Twitted he considered to let Japan and SoKo go nuclear…

And considering the Chinese regain of aggressivity since Jinping is around and the military build-up, Taiwan is already a nuke-threshold country, they’re very likely to decide to resume their nuke program, if not already done…

Don’t worry, China is running more proxy wars than USA!
Remember the Khmer Rouge? Chinese proxies… The third of Cambodia’s population slaughtered! Vietnam War was a Chinese proxy war too, so are the wars launched by Pakistan against India, the 1998-2000 Ethiopia-Eritrea war, etc etc! Let me laugh!!!

China is the #1 world seller and trafficker of small arms.
During ALL conflicts since WW2, small arms were for 99% of the fatalities.
You’re sure you want the Chinese as peace keepers?

China has only recently become a major arms exporter. And they are already UN peace keepers, especially in Africa where they are said to be well regarded. Nice try though in attempting to deflect the humanitarian crises that the USA and allies (including Israel) have caused since the end of WWII. I’m sure the tonnage the USA and allies dropped during the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, etc must account for the majority of civilian casualties; displacements and hence source of refugees to Europe. Not to mention US imposed sanctions such as those running for over a… Read more »

Oh, BTW, do you know that China’s debt is 303% of its $14TN GDP and they’re near 300M people unemployed?
And if USA pays less interests on its debt than it perceives on loaned money, China loaned money on countries that can’t repay, see the Debt Trap Policy. China felt in its own trap.

Not speaking about dubious economical practises, patents violations, looting of the EEZ or natural resources of many countries…
Gosh, Mr. World News, the Chinese are much worst than the Yankees!
Yankees are always OK for win-win agreements, even if they are tough and voracious. Even Pakistan now prefers to borrow money from the IMF!

Russia? With the GDP of Italy? Hey, even Japan, France and UK can project a much if not more forces if they want to!
BTW, you should take a look at what France did to jihadists in Sub-Saharian Africa… No low-intensity warfare, it was the road roller for Ansar-Dine, MUJAO, Boo-Haram, etc. Pffewww, and no blah blah in the media, the Foreign Legion, RIMA and RPIMA are not here to talk and advertise newest weapon system…
The only problem : too tight budget to be everywhere

India is very likely to be part of the Asian NATO, they’re building serious military ties… Oh, BTW, US are back in Vietnam. Duterte also asked them to come back… Too late for the Paracel islands snatched by China…

The Russians are not stupid. They managed to keep out Napoleon, the Nazis, and the Americans for 200 years. They have probably learnt a lot about Israeli abilities , capabilities and tactics being in Syria these last 4 years. Also the Russians have been able to refine their military equipment and tactics in the light of actual combat experience (something the Chinese could do with). For the Russian Foreign Minister to be overtly critical of Israel means that they have sized up that annoying country and is confident enough to tell them that enough is enough.

And it is usually enough for them to merely send Su-30s in the way of IAF strike packages to scare them away… who needs an actual military with super-resilient enemies like that 😂🤣

Nonetheless indeed,if the dogs bark too loud, more kinetic means will get into effect,as the world’s 2nd military superpower on Earth would certainly not flinch against a micro-state the size of 3 french departments, or 1/80th of Iran’s surface 😂🤣😂🤣and wholly dependent on foreign aid to sustain its army and state workers 😂🤣😂🤣
