BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:20 P.M.) – A large U.S. military convoy was filmed leaving northeastern Syria on Saturday for neighboring Iraq.

According to the Syrian Arab News Agency, more than 100 U.S. vehicles left Syria through the Al-Walid Crossing; they would then enter Iraq through the Nineveh Governorate.

It is not clear why the U.S. military redeployed these vehicles to Iraq; however, the last time they did this, the Iraqi government released a statement saying that they would not allow those U.S. forces to remain inside the country.

The U.S. is trying to keep a land channel open through Syria in order to provide an American logistical route into Iran. We hope to eventually generate enough political momentum for war against the Iranians, and a land route into the country would help to make another Mideast conquest possible.
